Privacy Policy
We collect basic personal information — your name, email address, phone number, and service address — only for the purposes of running our business and delivering the work you’ve asked us to do. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Prepare quotes and book appointments
- Send confirmations, reminders, and post-job follow-ups
- Request honest feedback or reviews after a completed job
- Improve our service quality and track basic internal performance
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is stored securely and used only to serve you better.
If you’d like to review the information we hold about you, or request that we delete it, email us at info@tublabs.ca and we’ll take care of it.
Terms of Service
1. Scope of Work
- Tub Labs provides bathtub refinishing, bathtub reglazing, tile reglazing, sink refinishing, full bathroom resurfacing, and minor surface repair.
- All work we provide is cosmetic in nature. Reglazing does not replace a bathtub, tile, or sink — it restores the existing surface to a like-new finish.
- Anti-slip texture is not included by default. It is only applied when specifically requested by the property owner or manager. When applied, the result will have a mildly textured feel by design, for added slip resistance.
2. Booking & Cancellations
- Appointments are confirmed once we’ve checked availability and the client has approved the quote and scheduled date.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee at our discretion to cover prep time and reserved scheduling.
3. Client Responsibilities
To ensure a safe job and a quality finish, the client agrees to:
- Have the work area fully cleared, clean, and accessible before our arrival.
- Provide working electricity, ventilation (an openable window or working exhaust fan), and running water on site.
- Keep children, pets, and anyone with respiratory sensitivities or other health vulnerabilities out of the work zone — and ideally out of the home — during the application and for the cure period afterward. The coating is spray-applied and produces fumes during application and curing; while we use low-VOC materials, exposure should still be avoided.
- Avoid using the refinished surface for 12–24 hours after completion (your technician will confirm exact wait time on the day). Premature use can damage the finish and void the warranty.
4. Finish Texture & Surface Feel
- Our standard finish is smooth and high-gloss, designed to look and feel like a new tub.
- Anti-slip coatings are available on request only. When applied, the surface will have a deliberately textured feel — different from a factory-smooth tub — to provide foot grip and reduce the risk of slipping.
- For technical details on the anti-slip additive used, see the manufacturer page for Sherwin-Williams SharkGrip Slip-Resistant Additive.
5. Warranty Coverage
Every full reglazing job is backed by a 5-Year Limited Warranty against peeling, bubbling, and cracking of the applied coating under normal residential use.
The warranty is void if any of the following occur:
- Suction-cup mats, abrasive scrubbers, or harsh chemical cleaners are used on the refinished surface.
- The surface sustains physical damage — chips, cracks, dropped objects, or other heavy impact.
- Another contractor, third party, or unauthorized person alters, repairs, or refinishes the surface after our work is complete.
- The aftercare instructions provided at completion are not followed.
Warranty claims are limited to the original customer, on the original surface refinished, at the original service address. To make a claim, contact us within the warranty period; we will inspect the affected area and re-coat it at no charge if the defect is covered.
6. Product & Material Safety
- We use professional-grade, industry-approved coatings — including TopKote 280, a low-VOC, fume-controlled urethane glaze.
- Although our materials are formulated to minimize fumes, normal ventilation precautions still apply during application and the cure period.
- Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS / SDS) for all products used are available on request — just email info@tublabs.ca.
7. Photos, Reviews & Marketing
- We routinely photograph completed work. Before/after images may be used for our records, quality control, training, and marketing (website, social media, flyers, ads).
- No personal tenant information, addresses, or other identifying details are ever shared alongside these images.
- By using our service, you may be contacted once after the job to request a review or short piece of feedback. You’re free to decline.
- If you do not want photos of your job used for marketing purposes, let us know in writing before or at the time of the appointment and we’ll keep them internal only.
8. Legal Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
- Tub Labs is not responsible for damage, defects, or conditions unrelated to our refinishing work — including pre-existing structural, foundation, plumbing, or moisture issues.
- Reglazing is a cosmetic process. It cannot repair deep structural cracks, fix plumbing problems, or reverse underlying deterioration of the tub, tile, or fixture.
- Where existing damage (rust-through, severe cracking, substrate failure, etc.) is discovered during prep, we will inform the client; results in those cases are not guaranteed under our standard warranty.
- Our total liability for any service complaint is limited, at our discretion, to either the cost of the service performed or a corrective repair of the affected area. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
9. Insurance
Tub Labs is fully insured for general liability while performing services. Proof of insurance is available on request for property managers, contractors, and commercial clients.
10. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of the job, unless other terms have been agreed in writing in advance.
- Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking.
- For multi-unit, commercial, or property-management contracts, alternate payment terms can be arranged in writing.
11. Agreement & Acknowledgement
By reaching out to us, requesting a quote, or booking a service with Tub Labs, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these terms.
- You agree to the materials, processes, and procedures used by Tub Labs.
- You acknowledge that reglazing is a cosmetic service, that it has required aftercare and reasonable limitations, and that the warranty applies as described above.
12. Updates to These Terms
We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. The most current version is the one posted on tublabs.ca, with the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
